Ar-Mosque-geddon

31 Aug

I’ve spent the better part of the day trying to come up with a really witty title for this blog.  ’You Mosque be joking’ and ‘Mosque ado about nothing’ were already taken so you guys will have to settle for this one.

Even before I write out this blog, I’m getting the feeling that I’m going to be all over the place here.

You have probably heard, in some shape or form, that there are plans in place for a Mosque to be constructed “at” Ground Zero.  A Mosque is where people of the Muslim faith go to worship with friends and family, much like Christians do every Sunday.  A Mosque is not a place where Muslims go to plan out terrorist attacks and figure out how they are going to bring death to America that week while indulging on a lovely spread of cookies, brownies, and coffee/tea much like a Church, most of them anyway, is not where Christians go to plan Anti-Abortion rallies or to plan crusades in the name of the Lord over the same spread of cookies, brownies, and coffee/tea.  I am dumbfounded that some people would even use ‘Muslim’ and ‘Terrorist’ in the same sentence.  When radical Islamic psychopaths blow themselves up, in the name of Allah, I bet every single Muslim on Planet Earth wants to distance themselves as far away as possible from the that despicable act just like all Christians wanted, and want, to distance themselves from Hitler, who killed Jews in the name of God.

I’m all scrambly here.  Should they build a Mosque at ground zero?  Yes, they absolutely should.  First of all, from what I have heard about the location of the Mosque, you can’t even see it from Ground Zero.  Second of all, isn’t that what the United States is all about, freedom of religion, speech, etc. etc.  It’s in their constitution isn’t it?  It doesn’t say that you have the freedom of religion as long as your religion is Christianity.  Plus, I’m going to go right on a limb here and assume that there has got to be at least five strip clubs in the surrounding area already.  Tits, drugs, booze, prostitution…NO PROBLEM.  But don’t think for one second that they will let Muslims into that area.  THAT’S where they draw the line!

Again, I’m scrambling.  Christians, I have always thought that actions speak louder than words.  That’s why as soon as you say something like “Christians are right and here’s why…..” you lose ALL credibility.  Jesus was always a “Do as I say, just like I do” kind of guy.  Sure, he spoke a lot but ultimately his actions were what drew people to him.  If you want to show people why Christianity is the way, prove it with your life.  Prove it by the way you live and how you interact with other people.  Nobody gives a damn about what you say.  Actions speak louder than words will ever be able to.  If you want to convert people, show them why being a Christian is good with how you live.  Any ass-hole with a bible can say things like “Jesus said:  ”I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  But it takes a special person to take a bum off the street and clothe them and feed them and give them a place to sleep.

Christians talk to much.  Actions speak louder than words.

peace,

Jimmy
